Hi Everyone!

    Thanks for checking in with me J! I had a medical appointment this past Monday, March 28^th, at St. Elizabeth’s hospital. I had a fairly routine visit: with blood drawn and blood counts completed (all good/normal!), I also was given an IV of saline to get more fluids into my system (painless but boring), and I also met with my oncologist Dr. Chi to review my past two weeks and to discuss a plan.

I have been on the molecular based - targeted treatment, Tarceva, an oral medication for 2 weeks and with very few side effects!!! Thankfully few side effects from the Tarceva which is nothing like the litany of side effects I had from the previous year of chemo-therapies. I experienced every possible side effect known to my oncologist and then some more.

We discussed a plan with an appointment on 4/15 for a ct scans and a follow up visit on 4/19 to review the scans with more routine blood counts and saline IV’s. We have also planned a visit with my big-shot oncologist at MGH, Dr. Fidias. We will circle the wagons with him and discuss any new clinical trials.

I am mostly just chronically tired and a bit unsteady on my feet. When I have a good day I try to make the most of it as they do not happen as often as I would like.

More good news for Jake as he was accepted to U.R.I., he earned a spot on the varsity volleyball team and he also has a wonderful girlfriend, Lindsey! My cat Wolfy is still a brat but I love him.
