Spring has sprung-wow!!!



Hello Everyone!

     My oncologist team has changed my course of treatment. I am no longer on the oral pill Tarceva because it didn’t help slow the progress of my disease. I am now on a new chemo treatment Gemzar to be administered weekly, depending on my blood counts. I have received 2 Gemzar treatments but on my last visit my red blood cells were low and they recommended a shot of Procrit to help my body produce more red blood cells. I read the warnings (scary!) and decided against the Procrit and would prefer a blood transfusion in its place, if necessary. My team of doctors at St. E’s Dr. Dorcas Chi and Dr. Shadi Hamdan are great and my new nurse fave’ is Chantu Taing.

     Jake has ordered his tux for the prom on 5/31 with purple accents to match his girlfriend Lindsey Pearlstein’s purple dress. He also has been honored with the job/title of class marshal for his graduation on 6/5. We don’t know what that means but we are proud and will keep you in the loop with pics of both exciting events!

     I look forward to a wonderful summer and seeing Jake leave for college in September. Thanks all for checking in periodically as I really appreciate your comments!
